Mompox – The colonial town of Mompox, founded in 1540, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and famous for it´s gold and silver filigree work which dates back to colonial times when the Spanish stored gold in Mompox,  Spanish craftsmen made jewelry using the techniques they had learnt from the Arabs centuries earlier and these are the techniques handed down to the skilled craftsmen of Kena.
